Music

Music plays a central part in life at Bishopsgate. All our children participate in practical musicianship and a high proportion learn an instrument. Every pupil studies keyboard harmony and recording, using the digital keyboard studio and groups are actively encouraged.

The Music School offers a dedicated teaching room, a Digital Keyboard studio and peripatetic tutorial rooms. A Performing Arts Centre was opened in September, 2007 where informal concerts, Dance and smaller scale musicals are performed.

There are choirs, a Wind Band and a String Section. Participation by children of all abilities is encouraged, with ample opportunities to perform in concerts and in Assemblies.
